What We Are

Hangar 18 Miniatures is an online boutique store dedicated for miniature painting and modeling since 2012. Located in beautiful Conifer, CO, the online store is operated and managed by a group of avid miniature painters and modelers with over 50 years of combined experience. We share the same vision: providing the best quality models from 30mm - 200mm, painting supplies and modelling tools that we personally use and recommended. You may not find many options of painting and modeling tools here simply because we hand picked and tested every single item. If we don't feel 100% confidence on the tools and/or models, you won't see it on this site.

"By Modelers For Modelers," That's our guarantee.

Our Products

  • Hangar 18 Tabletop Photo Backgrounds
"A picture worth a thousand words" really applies to miniature and model painting. With that in mind, we created these backgrounds to enhance the setting and the mood of your painted models. Our photo backgrounds are made from high quality and water resistant fabric for tabletop photography. Hangar 18 Tabletop Photo Backgrounds are available in A3 (Tabloid) and A2 sizes.

  • Hangar 18 Pinups
This is our first military pinup miniature line in 54mm and 32mm that we launched using Kickstarter in 2014. Hangar 18 Pinups models are now available for purchase.

The Hangar 18 Crew

Kirk Troy (1968-2015), Founder

Kirk has been in the miniature world since he was very young. Even though his major interest is in large models - especially cool looking monsters and aliens, he has a knack for knowing what models will be the next great thing. Because of his love for building and converting models in large numbers he is our dedicated source in testing the tools and material that we sell for mass production.  He is also in charge of our soon to be model production group.

Liliana Troy

Lili has been painting miniatures since 1999, thanks to Kirk's influence of his love for miniature games. In 13 years of painting, Lili has won several prestigious awards, including Golden Demon Slayer Sword in 2003 and 2004, Reaper Con trophies, and MMSI gold and silver medals. You can check her work at Pewtermonkey.com.

Lili values highly on making things easier in life. She often gets frustrated with many options out there for tools and you won't know how good or bad they are until you spent money on them. Thus this site was born with that vision.

Torin Reed
